Our Nursery School
We offer full Montessori based education. our approach is centered on self directed activities, experimental learning, and group play. We organize age-appropriate activities needed for growth/developmental process. Our curriculum does not only cover academics but also practical life activities.
Our classes are called the Nursery environment where we have a teacher to few children. The environment is equipped with every necessary material to enhance each child’s development.
Our nursery classes are graded into four:
- Pre – Nursery: (Toddler Class) – 1 year 6 months to 2 years 6 Months
- Nursery 1 (Reception Class) – 2 years 6months to 3 years 6 months
- Nursery 2 (Transitory Class) – 3 years 6 Months to 4 years 6 months
- (Nursery 3 (Norm Class) – 4 years 6 months to 5 years 6 months
Our Nursery School Activities
Practical Life Activities:
Practical Life Activities are activities that are intended to imitate daily life. Practical Life activities in the Montessori Curriculum centres on five main themes: Preliminary Exercises, Control of Movement, Care of Self, Care for the Environment and Grace and Courtesy.
1. Preliminary Exercises:
This is the ability of Children to learn the fundamental motions in the society e.g pouring, folding, and carrying.
2. Control of Movement:
This is focused on teaching children to refine and coordinate control of their bodies through activities such as walking on the line and the silence game.
3. Care of Self:
Personal care and daily maintenance chores like hand washing and getting dressed are carried out by the pupils
4. Care of Environment:
Children are taught how to engage with their environment in Care for the environment e.g watering a plant, cleaning a table, and arranging flowers
5. Grace and Courtesy:
Children acquire the social skills necessary for social interactions through Grace and Courtesy activities e.g greeting, introducing oneself, helping others and coughing
Academic Goals
Academic goals are achieved in every class category. From identification of numbers and sounds, formation of numbers, writing, blending, Reading, solving mathematical problems etc Planned topics from science, social studies. History and geography are taught.
Going through nursery school is an important phase in a child’s life for building strong foundation for primary school. Play is a fundamental component of learning, while academic skills are the main focus of curriculum-based learning. We also provide education based on real-world applications both within and outside of the classroom.
