The primary curriculum aims at fostering holistic development and personal growth of the child. It enables children to become problem solvers, critical, creative and innovative thinkers and to develop their capacity and potentials to serve successfully.
Aims and Objectives
At the end of their primary Education, pupils should be able to display skills in various areas as represented in the chart below:
our Curriculum Areas
Humanities
Our curriculum for Humanities aims at developing our pupils’ literary skill; skills in social studies, fine art, music, French language etc.
Our STEM Program is an Important Part of our Primary School Curriculum. Our STEM program is based on uniting four subjects areas: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Other subject areas include: Home economics, Agricultural science etc.
Health and physical education as a subject aims at providing all round development of the child. Activities are carefully selected according to the child’s age, needs, sex, and physical condition; and is aimed at the improvement of health-related knowledge, attitudes, and behaviour.
Our extracurricular activities are mainly aimed at organising a child’s life outside the classroom as a complement to, rather than a substitute for, regular academic activities.
ICT is important in primary because it enables the pupils for the information they need to learn better. We have incorporated ICT into our curriculum to spark-up curiosity, imagination, critical thinking and problem solving skills of our pupils.
Here at LMS, children have the freedom to choose their work, follow their interests, and learn their way. Our Montessori curriculum, for ages 0-5, ensures we nurture brilliant, independent and confident learners.
The Montessori method of education involves children’s natural interests and activities rather than formal teaching methods.
